Climbing

WACHAU VIEW FROM ABOVE

For climbers, the climbing garden in Dürnstein is an excellent area for learning and practice.

At the eastern end of the village, just past the town gate, a narrow lane leads left into the moat.
At the first left-hand bend (with a bench), a small path branches off directly to the Däumling,
the highest and perhaps most rewarding tower in the castle moat.

In addition to overhanging endurance routes, there are also several wonderful,
easier climbs on the east-facing wall.
