The Wachau Event Year in Dürnstein on the Danube

The WACHAU Marathon is a staple of Austrian running and uniquely combines nature, community, and athletic challenge.

The picturesque Wachau will transform into a vibrant star-studded spectacle on September 18 and 19, 2026:
National and international artists will set off a fireworks of hits over the skies of Rossatzbach on the Danube, directly opposite the Dürnstein castle ruins.

The choir of the Wachauer Trachtengruppe Dürnstein, under the direction of Michael Koller, invites you to a spring concert in the ceremonial hall of Stift Dürnstein.

In an average year, the grape harvest is scheduled from early to mid-October. The duration of the harvest depends on the weather and the vineyard location, but in the Wachau it usually lasts until mid-November. The harvest begins with grapes for juice and young wine (“Sturm”), followed by early varieties and, if applicable, wines in the Steinfeder category.
